BigLift Shipping has decided to end its co-operation with Rolldock Shipping in the BigRoll Shipping joint venture company as per January 1, 2018.
The two companies announced the formation of the joint company back in May 2013 with a focus on the offshore and onshore oil and gas and renewables markets, power generation, container cranes, and shipyard industries.
The two vessels are part of a series of four identical deck carriers which consist of the, then named, BigRoll Barentz, BigRoll Bering, BigRoll Baffin, and BigRoll Beaufort.
All four 173-meter long and 42-meter wide vessels were built by Cosco Dalian Shipyard for BigRoll and were delivered between April 2016 and March 2017.
“The broader range of vessels will enable BigLift to offer clients even better-customized shipping solutions of ever larger and heavier cargoes, both in large projects as in single shipments,” BigLift said.
According to the owner, the Finnish Swedish 1A Ice Class MC-Class vessels are explicitly designed for the marine transportation of major modules and equipment for large energy projects both on and offshore and can deliver in the most remote and inaccessible areas on the planet.
The company added that ongoing contracts and tenders of BigRoll Shipping would still be executed in co-operation with Rolldock Shipping.
