Briggs Marine expands by forming new diving division (UK)

One of the UK’s leading marine contractors, Briggs Marine, has continued its expansion of specialist services by launching a new in-house commercial diving division.

Briggs Marine has appointed Alistair Blue as Dive Superintendent to head up the new division. Alistair, an ADC certified Air Diver, has a broad range of experience in the industry.

Alistair Blue says: “Briggs Diving Division offers our clients an invaluable and bespoke integrated solution. The move to bring diving in-house ensures our clients can be confident that safety, quality and environmental accreditations, synonymous with Briggs, are upheld throughout our projects.”

As Briggs own and operate over 40 vessels, they are able to rapidly deploy a holistic diving package, with the ability to undertake air diving services throughout the UK.

As with all commercial diving companies safety and quality is paramount, and Briggs are full members of the ADC, registered contractors with the UK Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and members of IMCA, they also hold accreditations for ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.

They offer safe, dependable solutions for the diving requirements of their client base, including; the renewable energy industry, harbour, port and waterway authorities, the oil and gas sector, salvage, insurance and construction markets.

Craig English, Director of Subsea Services said: “Briggs Marine is continually evolving to meet market demands. Establishing a new in-house diving division means we now have the flexibility and control to facilitate clients who want a turnkey solution, with certainty in cost, but can also assist those looking for support with specific one-off projects”.
Briggs Marine and Environmental Services supply services to a range of industries in the marine sector. The range of services includes vess|el charter and management, submarine cable installation, repair and maintenance, diving services, operation and maintenance of Aids to Navigation, salvage and wreck removal, oil and gas terminal operations and environmental consultancy. The company also provides an International emergency oil spill response service. Established in the 1970s, the Briggs Group has a strong reputation within the maritime and oil and gas sectors and, over the last ten years, has expanded that reputation into the growing renewable energy sector. The Briggs Group has head offices in Burntisland, Fife as well as further operations in Aberdeen and International offices in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Technical Writing for E&P Staff: A Structured Approach

This unique workshop provides guidelines for the efficient reporting of petroleum engineering, geological and geophysical studies. No technical project carried out within the Petroleum Industry is complete if it is not presented or reported competently.

It will help you to produce concise and readable management briefings, well/study proposals, field development plans, operating manuals, equity documentation and study reports.

Most ‘communication skills’ courses are presented by individuals from outside the oil industry. This one is different. It gives practical instruction rather than theory, and is based on the presenter’s extensive experience of reporting integrated field development studies in an International Oil Company and Consultancy environment, as well as Board papers and legal documentation.
