Seadrill appoints two new board members

Offshore drilling contractor Seadrill has named two new members to the board of directors, effective from January 10, 2017.

Seadrill said on Wednesday that Michael Grant and David Weinstein bring additional industry and cross-border transaction expertise to the company.

Grant has held senior management positions in several companies including Al Jaber Group (UAE), Cable & Wireless (US & UK), Houses of Parliament (UK) and Eurotunnel Group (UK/France). He has a first degree in Civil Engineering, an MBA in Finance from London Cass Business School and has completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.

He is a chartered engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK) and a Fellow of the UK Association of Corporate Treasurers.

Weinstein is the chairman of Oneida Group and deputy chairman of Torm plc. He graduated from the Columbia School of Law and Brandeis University.

Weinstein also held board leadership positions in Horizon Lines, Interstate Bakeries, Pioneer Companies, and York Research Corporation and served as managing director of Calyon Securities, BNP Paribas, Bank of Boston and Chase Securities.

He was also the chairman of Everyware Global and a board member of DeepOcean and Axiall Corporation.
