The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has granted consent to ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS (CoPSAS) to conduct manned underwater operations in connection with installation of the Ekofisk 2/4 VB facility.
The consent covers work in connection with the 2/4 VB SSWI project, where CoPSAS is installing a new subsea facility – 2/4 VB – for water injection on the Ekofisk field, located in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
The manned underwater operations will mainly consist of installing a T pipe segment on the existing water pipeline. The T pipe segment will be joined using hyperbaric welding.
The work has a planned duration of 20 days, with start-up during August. The work will be performed by Subsea 7, with one of the most advanced diving vessels in the world, the DSV Seven Havila vessel.
