Allseas, Royal IHC, GustoMSC to present new offshore vessel concepts, designs and new builds

In the recurring annual conference session on offshore vessels, representatives of Allseas, Royal IHC, GustoMSC, among others, will present on their latest concepts, designs and new builds for the offshore industry.

The session which takes place on 29 October in Amsterdam RAI is part of Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference. Ever more complex exploration and production activities in the offshore industry along with increasingly stringent environmental standards call for continuous innovation in shipbuilding and marine engineering to meet changing client demands.

Sjoerd Hendriks, Design Manager Vessel at GustoMSC, has been involved in GustoMSC’s latest drillship projects. During this conference session he will present GustoMSC’s newest and largest drillship design class the Magellan Class Drillship. The design characteristics and safety features of the Magellan incorporate the rig design recommendations taken from the Macondo incident evaluation reports.

The design allows for drilling in deeper water and more complex wells.

Allseas’ founder and CEO Edward Heerema will give a general update on the state of industry, additionally he will give an update on the largest platform installation/decommissioning and pipelay vessel in the world, the ‘Pieter Schelte’.

Ronald van Son is currently Product Director for the Offshore Division at Royal IHC and thereby responsible for the contracting and building of 10 pipelaying vessels for Petrobras. Three vessels have been delivered and these first vessels now in operation achieve uptimes of 99%. Maurizio Collu, lecturer at Cranfield University, will present a new concept of AAMVs or aerodynamically alleviated marine vehicles.

This year’s Offshore Vessels session is organized in cooperation with Port of Rotterdam and chaired by Roland van Assche, Director Bulk Cargo & Shipping at Port of Rotterdam. For more information and to register please visit https://offshore-energy.biz/
