Altus scoops well services contract with Maersk Oil

Well intervention specialist Altus Intervention has secured a well services contract in the UK part of the North Sea with Maersk Oil.

Altus said on Monday that the contract with Maersk Oil was for a fixed term of five years. The company would provide slick line services, coiled tubing, well surveillance, ballistic and wireline tractor services to support Maersk’s UK Central North Sea operations and planned abandonment campaigns.

Garry Michie, Altus Intervention UK President, said: “We are delighted to build upon our existing relationship with Maersk. Our priority is to provide sustainable cost reductions to our clients, and through this integrated approach, we can deliver this while maximizing operational efficiencies and mitigating risk.”

Åge Landro, CEO of Altus’ parent company Qinterra AS, added: “We have had the pleasure of working with Maersk over many years, as we have provided them with downhole technology to their operations in Denmark. I see this award as a confirmation of our service quality we have delivered to Maersk so far.”

Qinterra AS, consists of subsidiaries Altus Intervention which offers well intervention services in the North Sea and Qinterra Technologies that delivers well intervention technology internationally.
