Apply lands Edvard Grieg extension

Apply Sørco, a Norwegian engineering company, has been awarded an extension by Lundin for the maintenance & modification (M&M) contract on the Edvard Grieg field offshore Norway.

Apply informed on Monday it would continue to provide maintenance, modifications and operations support on the Edvard Grieg field, located in PL338 in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea, about 180 km west of Stavanger.

The extension of the M&M contract is until  January 1, 2019, with options for additional extensions of up to three years, Apply said.

The Edvard Grieg field was discovered in 2007 with Lundin Norway’s very first drilled exploration well, and is estimated to contain 195 million barrels of oil equivalents (gross 2P reserves).

The field has been developed with a steel jacket platform resting on the seabed. The topsides weigh about 22,500 tonnes and include a process facility, utility module and living quarters. First oil from the field was achieved in November 2015.

Lundin Norway is the operator of PL338 with a 65 percent working interest. License partners are OMV Norge with 20 percent and Wintershall Norge with the remaining 15 percent.
