Apply Sorco Prepares Teekay's FPSO for Operation in UK

Apply Sørco has established a Framework Agreement with Teekay related to “Pre-operations and Operations Support Services”. This is a wide and open frame agreement which might include most of the services and products portfolio that Apply Sørco can provide to our customers.

The agreement is entered with Teekay Norway, and hence it comprises all activities for which Teekay  in Norway is responsible.

The first job for Teekay is an essential and time critical assignment related to preparation for operation of “Sevan Voyageur”. The FPSO is contracted for production on the Huntington field on British sector by the German operator E.On. Apply Sørco will be involved in this preparatory operational work.

“Roles and responsibilities in this Sevan Voyageur Project are quite complicated, but Teekay has asked us to assist them with regard to re-commissioning and start-up of the production systems while the FPSO is still inshore at Nymo’s yard in Eydehavn in the outskirt of Arendal. By summertime “Sevan Voyageur” will by towed offshore to the field, and Teekay will take over full responsibility as “duty holder” i.e. will be acting as operator on behalf of E.On who still is the formal operator on the Huntington field.

We have established two teams – each consist of five persons covering the disciplines and skill that Teekay at present requests. The two teams will execute their work on a”14- 14 days back-to-back” rotation. For the time being the assignment is planned to last until “Sevan Voyageur” is towed out to the field which is due by the June/July. Anyway, we foresee that there will be more work to be carried out beyond this date and this first assignment. Project Manager is Kristian Sandvik,”Apply said in a press release.

“Sevan Voyageur” is a cylinder shaped FPSO which has been out of operations for some time. In addition to the re-commissioning work and start-up of the systems, modifications and improvements related to the process systems and the marine stabilisation systems have been made.
