Aquaterra Energy gets new business development director

Offshore engineering solutions provider Aquaterra Energy has appointed a new business development director.

Aquaterra said that Christian Berven was appointed to the position and that it strengthened its EMEA operations by opening offices in Stavanger, Norway.

Berven joins the company following ten years as managing director of Norwegian oil service company, Toolserv. He has more than 22 years of experience in the global oil and gas industry and has worked across Europe, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. He has also held senior positions with global players, Cameron and Interwell.

Regarding his appointment, Berven said: “Aquaterra Energy has huge potential to evolve and develop as an essential service and solutions provider in Norway and across Europe. Though competition is tough in this region, I am confident that our experience, reputation and unwavering focus on quality assurance and HSE, will see the company strengthen its position and secure a strong foothold in the market.”

George Morrison, managing director of Aquaterra Energy, added: “2018 is going to be an extremely exciting year and I’m delighted to welcome Christian into our business as we expand and strengthen our operations within EMEA. We understand the importance of being visible and active in key markets, as local engagement is vital to build on reputations and to continue to grow our business.”

The Norwich-based firm was the first to secure a multi-million-pound investment from EV Private Equity, as part of its pledge last year to support fast-growing North Sea businesses.

The company said that part of EV’s investment was used for funding to expand its fleet of high-pressure riser systems. Four of the five systems have already been contracted for work in 2018.
