A provider of air compression and steam generation to the offshore industry RentAir Offshore and ATR Power Solutions, a solutions provider to the oil and gas industry, have merged to become one company.
This agreement follows the successful merger of their parent companies, Centurion Group and ATR Group, earlier this year.
ATR said last Monday that the new combined business would trade under the RentAir Offshore brand.
The new company will bring together the complementary products, and services of both companies in the rental of specialist air compression, steam and power generation equipment to support oil & gas production, well testing, fabric maintenance, and renewables.
Also, Robbie Garden, Divisional Director of RentAir Offshore, will continue in this role, working alongside Commercial Director, John Cooper who was formerly a Divisional Director of ATR Power Solutions. George Mess, Operations Director, will continue to provide technical support to the business.
Garden said: “Under this merger, the position of both businesses is significantly strengthened through enhanced and increased capability and capacity in what continues to be a very challenging market.”
The company said that the merger between the two businesses would allow an increase in their global reach.
RentAir’s bases in Aberdeen, Great Yarmouth, Netherlands, Singapore, Australia, and the United States of America will add to ATR’s Caspian business located in Baku, Azerbaijan.
ATR’s Baku business offers the supply, inspection, certification and maintenance of all types of lifting equipment (including cranes) and accessories, hire and sale of tools and consumables, inspection and certification of water weights and water bags, supply and maintenance of Rigsafe generators and Rigsafe/Zone II compressors, PAT/HAV testing, NDT services, and blasting and painting.
Apart from the Caspian region, ATR operates throughout the North Sea, UKCS, and Norway.
ATR said that Aberdeen employees were transferred to RentAir Offshore’s premises in Dyce from where the merged business has been operating since October 3, 2016.
Keith Moorhouse, Chief Executive of Centurion Group, said: “After only a little over eight weeks, we are already seeing the benefits from the merger of Centurion and ATR Group.
“The combination of two of our business, RentAir Offshore and ATR Power Solutions, builds on what has been achieved so far through a broader range of products and services available globally and delivering much more cost-effective solutions.”
