Barakah Offshore enters welding deal with Murphy

Malaysia’s Barakah Offshore Petroleum Berhad has received a Letter of Award for an umbrella contract for the provision of welding services for drilling and subsea program from the oil and gas company Murphy Oil.

The contract was awarded to Barakah’s wholly-owned subsidiary company, PBJV Group Sdn Bhd (PBJV), by Murphy Sarawak Oil, Murphy Sabah Oil and Murphy Peninsular Malaysia Oil.

According to Barakah’s Bursa Malaysia filing on Monday, the contract includes provision of welding services required for Murphy’s drilling and subsea program for period from the date of the award to 2018.

The company also said that the scope entails providing welding services including manpower, equipment and consumables on work order basis to perform welding work for Murphy’s offshore drilling and subsea programs throughout the duration of the contract.

The total value of the contract will depend on the actual work orders issued by Murphy during the contract period.
