Houston-based offshore helicopter operator Bristow Group has named a new president and CEO of the company.
Bristow said last week that L. Don Miller was named as the new president and CEO, effective February 28.
Miller previously served as the company’s senior vice president and CFO. He takes over from executive vice chairman Thomas Amonett who served as an interim president following the retirement of former president and CEO Jonathan Baliff.
Tom Knudson, director and chairman of Bristow, said: “Don’s knowledge of the business and our clients coupled with his extensive experience in financial and capital markets position him well to lead this great company.”
Miller joined Bristow Group in 2010 and has held several leadership positions within the company’s finance and strategy functions, including VP of mergers, acquisitions, and integration.
Regarding his appointment, Miller said: “Bristow serves a critical role in the oil and gas and search and rescue industries and beyond, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to lead the company through one of the most dynamic markets in recent history.”
Also, the company promoted Brian Allman to replace Miller as SVP and CFO. Allman was previously the vice president and chief accounting officer. He will remain as the chief accounting officer along with his new roles. Allman joined Bristow in 2006 as a director of financial reporting.
