Brooke Dockyard scores EPCIC work for three Bokor wellhead platforms

Petronas Carigali (PCSB), a subsidiary of Malaysian oil major Petronas, has awarded a contract to Brooke Dockyard and Engineering Works Corp. for work on a re-development project offshore Sarawak.

Brooke Dockyard is an integrated engineering company with businesses in ship repair, shipbuilding, and fabrication of oil and gas offshore modules, wholly-owned by the Sarawak state government.

The contract with PCSB is for the provision of front-end engineering design (FEED) and engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of three wellhead platforms for the Bokor phase III redevelopment project.

The three wellhead platforms will be installed at the Bokor field, about 45km northwest of Lutong. The project is under the Baram Delta EOR Production Sharing Contract (PSC) where PCSB is the operator, partnered by Sarawak Shell.

Earlier this week, construction company Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering (MMHE) was awarded a RM1.0 Billion ($226.7 million) contract to build an offshore central processing platform (CPP) for the Bokor phase III redevelopment.

First steel for the CPP is expected to be cut in the third quarter of 2018. The project is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2020.

According to an article by the Malaysian news website “The Star”, MMHE beat Sapura Energy Bhd to win the CPP tender. MMHE also applied on the tender for the three wellhead platforms, only to lose out to Brooke Dockyard.
