Chevron hands out extensions to Deep Sea Supply PSV duo

Deep Sea Supply has been awarded a seven-month extension of the bareboat contracts for two PSVs, the Sea Tortuga and Sea Triumph, operating in Australian waters, by an ‘international oil major company’.

Deep Sea Supply said on Friday that both vessels have been working under current contract since the end of March 2015. According to data on the company’s website, both vessels work for the U.S. oil major Chevron.

Under the contract extension, the bareboat contracts for both vessels are now firm until the end of April 2017.

The company added that the deal also entails a total of 130 days extension options for each vessel. Further information, including financial details of the deal, were left undisclosed.

The Sea Tortuga and Sea Triumph are sister vessels built by Cochin Shipyard Limited in India and delivered in 2014. They are both 4,000 dwt PSVs of STX 05-L CD design which can accommodate 28 persons.

The vessels joined Deep Sea Supply’s fleet through the acquisition of PSV Holding in 2014.

At the time of the acquisition, PSV Holding had five operational PSVs, one of which was the Sea Tortuga while it had an active order for five additional vessels one of which was the Sea Triumph.
