CIMC bags flotel order (China)

Cimc flotel accommodation offshore rig

Chinese offshore rig builder CIMC Raffles has today received an order to construct an offshore accommodation rig for C. Helios Limited

The semi-submersible flotel of CIMC Raffles’ CR600 design will be able to accommodate 600 crewmembers.

Since 2010, CIMC Raffles has delivered a total of nine deepwater semi-submersible rigs. Two of these are 100% in-house designed semi-submersible heavy-lift and accommodation rigs that are currently operating in the Campos Basin of Brazil for Petrobras.

The rig builder, which today also delivered a new semi-submersible drilling rig, did not disclose financial details of the order.
