Cobalt hires Air Energi for support services in Malaysia

Air Energi Group, the global workforce solutions provider for the oil and gas industry, has been awarded a contract to provide global exploration company, Cobalt International Energy, with regional support services in Malaysia.

The nine month agreement – with an 18 month extension option – will see Air Energi deliver regional support services to the project management team of a major front end engineering design (FEED) project in Kuala Lumpur. The scope of work covers in-country support for Cobalt International Energy’s expatriate personnel in Kuala Lumpur throughout the duration of the project.

This award comes as Air Energi appoints Brian Kleb to mark the launch of its Global Mobility Services division as a standalone business stream. Located in Houston, Kleb brings with him a wealth of experience in global mobility and relocation services, and will be responsible for establishing and growing Air Energi’s new offering internationally. Kleb joined Air Energi as Business Development Manager – Global Mobility Services from March 2014.

Kleb comments: “Companies like Cobalt International Energy are choosing to work with specialists such as Air Energi at the earliest opportunity to understand the challenges, opportunities and potential impact on cost and schedule of project packages being awarded in particular countries. As such, Air Energi’s new Global Mobility offering comes at a time when projects are moving into more remote and less accessible regions, meaning companies must carefully consider how they can staff projects appropriately.”

Air Energi’s Global Mobility Service addresses the oil and gas industry’s requirement to assign a multinational workforce to some of the world’s most challenging destinations. Provided either on a standalone basis or as part of a bundled offering, Air Energi can provide a range of people-related services from visa acquisition and permits, pay rolling and tax payments, through to destination services such as ‘meet and greet’ and relocation assistance.

Judith Goodwin, Associate Director – Global Mobility at Air Energi, adds: “Our Global Mobility function is the jewel in the crown of Air Energi’s service offering. Our dedicated team operates across national boundaries bringing unrivalled commitment, knowledge and capability to mobilize and support technical personnel compliantly and safely on overseas projects. This ensures that our contractors are prepared and supported at every stage of an assignment.”
