The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has decided to rename the Dagny field in the North Sea, Statoil, the operator of the field, announced today.
As from today 8 March – International Women’s Day – the field will be known as Gina Krog. Krog (1847-1916) was a well-known champion of women’s rights, who fought for equal rights for men and women and took part in the struggle to achieve voting rights for women on the same terms as men.

The development concept consists of a fixed platform to be tied in to the Sleipner field for gas export. The oil will be transported by tankers.
