Dana Petroleum picks ‘Ocean Sprite’ for ERRV work

UK-based oil and gas exploration and production company Dana Petroleum has picked Atlantic Offshore’s offshore supply ship ‘Ocean Sprite’ for operations on two of its wells on the UKCS. 

According to Atlantic Offshore, the ERRV contract, which is for 2 wells estimated at 70 days each, is scheduled to start on March 1, 2016. There is also a further 2 x 1 well options period, with an expected duration of 30 days each.

The Ocean Sprite will be supporting the Ocean Guardian, Diamond Offshore’s drilling rig, which is also contracted by Dana Petroleum on the UK Continental Shelf. According to Marine Traffic, the rig is located near Edinburgh, Scotland.

According to Diamond Offshore’s fleet report, the 1985-built midwater rig is working for Dana Petroleum under a dayrate of $220,000, until March 2017.

Atlantic Offshore’s Ocean Sprite is a 1975-built supply/rescue vessel. The vessel is 61 meters long, accommodates 15 persons and is propelled by two main engines which put out 2.100 BHP each.

The Norwegian offshore services provider Atlantic Offshore did not provide financial details of the contract.
