DOF Subsea scores more work off Canada

Offshore vessel specialist DOF Subsea has been awarded a project offshore Newfoundland for an undisclosed Canadian operator.

In Tuesday’s statement, DOF stated that the company had won a subsea oil field support project offshore Canada.

DOF added that the ROV construction support vessel Skandi Neptune would be utilized on the project.

The Skandi Neptune was built in 2001 and converted in 2005. It is a versatile ROV construction support vessel, equipped with a heavy duty heave compensated 250 tonnes crane along with two 3,000-meter rated WROVs.

Offshore Energy Today has reported on DOF’s increasing activities in North America several times in the past few months.

Namely, the company took control of Canadian Subsea Shipping Company AS in late April while DOF Subsea North America extended the charter of the multi-purpose DP-2 construction, supply, ROV vessel Harvey Deep Sea in early June. Only days later, DOF Subsea North America was awarded a five-month contract offshore Canada for the vessel Skandi Chieftain, operated by DOF Subsea Canada.

Also, Canadian Subsea Shipping, is expecting the delivery of newbuild vessel Skandi Vinland, under construction by Vard Group in Norway, which is scheduled to begin a ten-year contract in Canada with Husky Energy in July.
