DOF Subsea wins work on Global Producer 3 FPSO

DOF Subsea UK Limited, a provider of integrated subsea solutions, has been awarded a contract by Maersk Oil UK to undertake replacement of the Dumbarton Drill Cluster Centre (DCC) flexible production riser at the Global Producer 3 FPSO located in block 15/20 of UK sector North Sea. The work will take place at a water depth of 140m.

Normand Reach will support the replacement of the DCC Production Riser.

Engineering work associated with the project has already started with the offshore works scheduled to begin in July 2014. DOF Subsea’s long term chartered construction support vessel, Normand Reach, will support the replacement of the DCC Production Riser.

The scope of work includes all activities associated with the existing riser recovery, existing buoyancy removal, new buoyancy installation, new riser re-installation and all associated surveys. The work will involve a significant, dedicated project team drawn mostly from DOF Subsea’s pool of highly skilled personnel.

DOF Subsea will also provide all Project Management and Engineering support from its Aberdeen base, as well as a team to support riser pull in operations on board the Global Producer 3 FPSO.

Feeling very positive about the win, Giovanni Corbetta, managing director of DOF Subsea UK Ltd, said: “We are delighted that Maersk Oil UK has selected us for this project. We feel that this demonstrates confidence in the experience and capabilities of our engineering and project management teams and the investments we have made in our offshore assets.

We are also pleased that our growing track record of success in delivering complex construction projects is strengthening our relationships with major operator clients.”

DOF Subsea has proven capabilities in subsea construction, specialist survey, and inspection, repair and maintenance services worldwide. The company also owns and operates one of the largest global fleets of high-specification vessels, ROVs and dive systems.

The company has seen sustainable growth over the last five years and has almost 1,600 employees worldwide, with 460 of those based in the UK. In recent years, the company has developed its reputation in the marketplace to recognise its extensive capabilities as an integrated subsea services provider as well as its dedicated fleet of vessels.
