Eidesvik Offshore worker found dead in North Sea

An Eidesvik Offshore worker died in the North Sea accident on Sunday, around 200 kilometers northeast of Stavanger, Norway.

According to Nordlys.no, the man from Tromso was found floating near the Leiv Eiriksson semi-submersible drilling rig, operating for Total oil company. Total is using the rig to drill the Trell prospect.

The worker was part of the crew on board the Viking Athene supply vessel, Nordlys.no reported. No information on the cause of the accident has been revealed so far.

Neither Eidesvik, nor Total responded to e-mails seeking comment.
