The executive director and chief executive officer of Emas Offshore Limited has tendered his resignation from both his positions.
Emas Offshore, a Singapore-based offshore vessel owner, said on Thursday that executive director and chief executive officer Captain Adarash Chranji Lal Amarnath Kumar would depart from the company on April 6, 2018.
“The board would like to express appreciation to Capt. Kumar for his contributions to the group during his tenure and wishes him well in his future endeavors,” the company said.
According to Emas, Kumar will continue in his duties and responsibilities pending the appointment of a suitable candidate in due course.
He was appointed to the board as non-independent, non-executive director in 2014, and re-designated as an executive director in 2015 and the CEO later that same
Kumar has over 35 years of experience in the marine industry. He started his career with Malaysian International Shipping Corporation in 1979 where he held various positions on board vessels until 1992.
He was an assistant general manager with offshore support services provider Bumi Armada Navigation from 1993 to 2002 where he was responsible for its operations. Kumar is a qualified Master Mariner and holds a Certificate of Competency as a Master of a Foreign Going Ship issued by the Malaysian Marine Department.
