Ex-Lundin Norway head nominated for Sevan board of directors

Sevan Marine has proposed the appointment of a former Lundin Petroleum executive to its board of directors, to replace board member Kjetil Sjursen.

Sjursen, who has served as a director of Sevan Marine ASA since May 21, 2015, has informed Sevan’s Nomination Committee that he’s not available for re-election, despite having been nominated.

In a statement on Thursday, the Norwegian designer of offshore facilities thanked Sjursen for “valuable contributions during the period he has served on the Board of Directors.”

As a replacement for Sjursen, Sevan Marine’s board nomination committee has proposed Torstein Sann, a former Managing Director of Lundin Petroleum Norway.

He served as the Managing Director there from 2004 to April 2015, when he was elected Chairman of the same company until March 2017. He then moved to the board of International Petroleum Corp., another Lundin Group company.

“Under his leadership Lundin Norway turned into one of the most successful players on the NCS and added net discovered resources of close to a billion boe to its portfolio,” reads a statement by Sevan.

Sannes is a a graduate of the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim where he obtained a Master of Engineering (geology, geophysics and mining engineering). He also serves as a board member for TGS, the world’s largest geoscience data company,

Nomination Committee proposed that Erling Øverland (chairman), Peter Lytzen, Ingvild Sæther, and Kathryn M. Baker be re-elected to the board at the Annual General Meeting of the company scheduled for May 24. Torstein Sanness is the only new member of the board proposed by the Committee. If elected, the directors will serve on the board until the AGM in 2018.
