FAR Ltd. Names New CFO

FAR Ltd, an oil and gas exploration company focused on East and West Africa, has named Peter Thiessen as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary.

Thiessen previously worked as CFO and company secretary of Flow Energy Limited, prior to the merger with FAR Ltd. His appointment coincides with the closure of FAR Ltd’s Perth office and relocation to Melbourne.

As a consequence Colin Harper, the present CFO and Company Secretary will leave FAR on September 30, 2012.

“Mr Harper has made an exemplary contribution to FAR Ltd over the last five years and the board publicly expresses its gratitude for his dedicated service since 2007,” the company said in a press release.

Thiessen has previously spent over 10 years with BDO and Deloitte global accounting and professional services firms. He has spent the last 4 years contracting independently within the mining and exploration industry. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting).
