Farstad bags Woodside charter award

Far Senator

Farstad Shipping, an offshore shipping company with headquarters in Norway, has been awarded a contract for one of its anchor handling tug and supply vessels by the Australian energy company Woodside Energy.

Farstad’s AHTS Far Senator was awarded a 17 month contract plus options.

According to the shipping company, the contract is expected to start in June 2016. Farstad stated that the commercial terms are confidential between the parties.

AHTS Far Senator was built in 2013 by VARD Langsten yard with 87.4m LOA, and ability to accommodate 40 persons.

Elsewhere, Woodside announced on Wednesday it would not move forward with the development of the Browse basin gas fields assets offshore W. Australia, due to current economic and market environment.
