A fire broke out today on a Socar-operated platform in the Caspian Sea, offshore Azerbaijan, Trend news agency has reported.
According to the Azeri news agency, twelve crewmembers fell into the sea and a vessel by the Ministry of Emergency Situations is working to recover them.
Trend further said that five people were injured and were taken to hospital.

Reportedly, the fire at the platform #441, was quelled by the fire fighters.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking more information, sent by Offshore Energy Today.
