Floatel Superior hired for BP Magnus project

Floatel’s accommodation rig has secured a contract in the UK North Sea.

BP Exploration Operating Company Limited has awarded a contract to Floatel International for the provision of an accommodation and construction support vessel for BP Magnus Life Extension Project.

Floatel Superior is the nominated unit for the work and the charter will start mid/end February 2015 for a firm hire period of three months.

BP Magnus offshore facility is located 160km north-east of Shetland in the Northern North Sea in a water depth of 186 meters.

Floatel Superior is an accommodation and construction support vessel with 440 bed accommodations, all single bed cabins, or 512 using double bed occupancy. The vessel is designed to meet the most demanding regulatory requirements for operating in the harshest environmental conditions in the world. Floatel Superior was delivered from Keppel Shipyard in Singapore in early 2010.
