Four offshore blocks for Spike Exploration (Norway)

Spike Exploration Holding AS (Spike) has been awarded four licenses in the 2014 Norwegian APA (Awards in Pre-defined Areas) Licence Round on the Norwegian Continental Shelf; three in the North Sea and one on Haltenbanken.

Work commitments are a mix of reprocessing of seismic and acquisition of existing or new 3D-seismic, all followed by a drill-or-drop decision, Spike has explained in a press release.

“Spike is pleased to have been awarded four exciting new licenses on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. These licenses will add value to our exploration portfolio, and confirm the Spike team’s ability to identify and describe promising opportunities. Since the inception in 2012, Spike has participated in twelve wellbores, proving hydrocarbons in nine, whereof Pil&Bue and Garantiana are the most valuable. Spike will continue to grow the exploration portfolio in order to enable continued success in the years to come.” comments Bjørn Inge Tønnessen, CEO of Spike Exploration.
