Fugro extends gig for DOF construction vessel

DOF Subsea has been awarded a contract extension for one of its construction vessels by Fugro.

In an Oslo Stock Exchange filing on Friday, DOF said that Fugro has extended the firm period of hire for the Skandi Carla time charter contract from July 2017 until end October 2019.

Up until July, the construction vessel was working for Fugro under a contract awarded back in 2012.

Skandi Carla is a purpose-designed and built ROV survey, IRM and construction support vessels. Delivered in 2001, it is a diesel-electric, DP2 vessel equipped with advanced DGPS, USBL acoustic system and a Seapath 200.

The vessel is fitted with a heave compensated Hydramarine 50T/15m knuckle boom deck crane with recovery speeds at depths down to 3,000 meters.
