Global Maritime, a marine, offshore and engineering consultancy, has appointed a new country manager for the U.S.

Global Maritime said on Monday that it named Eric Frank to oversee its United States operations based out of Houston.

Frank, who will also be responsible for the company’s dynamic positioning (DP) services throughout the U.S., brings 27 years of offshore and onshore experience to Global Maritime and has been tasked with supporting the company’s continued growth across the region.

This includes a number of recent contracts relating to bridge and port infrastructure assessments, mooring designs and rig moves, newbuild DP testing and trials, and marine warranty services.

Egil Kvannli, CEO of Global Maritime, said: “Eric’s decades of industry experience, in particular in the drilling sector, will be of great benefit to Global Maritime as we look to widen our product portfolio and expand our US operations.”

Regarding his appointment, Frank added: “When the opportunity to join Global Maritime came up, the decision was an easy one. I see enormous potential for the company and our dynamic positioning, marine warranty, and mission-critical systems will prove crucial to U.S. companies as they look for that extra competitive edge.”

Frank comes to Global Maritime from deepwater drilling contractor Seadrill where he held a variety of engineering and leadership positions over the last 11 years including his last role as technical manager for special projects in the Western hemisphere.

He has extensive experience in seismic vessels, dredging, heavy lift marine construction, and deepwater drilling, with activities including shipyard commissioning and owner acceptance testing, vessel maiden voyages and delivery, rig and asset management, rig renewal surveys, and regulatory compliance.
