Romanian drilling contractor GSP Offshore has signed a new contract with OMV Petrom for offshore drilling and workover operations which will be carried out by GSP Uranus jack-up rig.
The rig will operate in the Black Sea offshore Romania under a two years contract. GSP did not reveal the value of the contract.
Today, March 20, around 14:30 , the convoy composed of GSP King, GSP Licorn and two other tug vessels began the rig moving from GSP Shipyard, in Constanta Sud Agigea Port, heading to the first drilling location offshore.
GSP Uranus is a Marathon Le Tourneau Class 116-C design jack-up drilling rig.
The rig’s upgrade and reclassification project, worth over USD 44 million, was recently completed with the support of EximBank.
