The Offshore Energy Opening Gala Dinner & Awards show will be back on Monday 22 October. This prestigious event celebrates the accomplishments within the industry.

Last year’s winner of the Best Innovation in Offshore Energy Award for the Next Ocean Wave Predictor and new jury member, Karel Roozen, quipped: “I think the impact for the company will be huge. We have controversial new technology and I think it helps us a lot to display this technology to such a big and relevant audience during the Offshore Energy Awards”.

It is exactly that strength, celebrating innovation and offering a platform that defines the Offshore Energy Opening Gala Dinner & Awards Show. Bringing together professionals from the complete offshore energy industry and acknowledging the hard work that is being done within the industry, as Dries Lammers, last year’s winner of the Offshore Energy Young Engineer Award, correctly stated: “I think it’s important for the industry as these awards show a different kind of projects that are ongoing in the industry.”

There are three awards up for grabs: Best Innovation in Offshore Energy Award, Offshore Energy Young Engineer Award and Offshore Energy Public Outreach Award – the latter aimed at improving public awareness and understanding of the company’s, organization’s or project team’s work or of the offshore energy industry in general, which is often lacking in a quite conservative market.

Thom Koning, the winner of last year’s Offshore Energy Public Outreach Award for Our Oceans Challenge, noted: “Gradually you see change that sustainability is not only for people onshore, but also for offshore. If you want to work on this planet, you have to work offshore as well.”
