Kreuz Subsea hires Seamec vessel for work off India

Seamec, a provider of diving support vessels and services, has entered into a charter hire agreement for one of its vessels with Kreuz Subsea.

Seamec said on Thursday that Kreuz Subsea hired the multi-role accommodation vessel Revelation for a job offshore the west coast of India.

According to the company, the contract is for a firm period of 50 days subject to an extension with mutual consent. The contract will begin around the first week of March 2018.

Seamec added that the value of the charter during the firm period was $300,000.

As for the vessel, the Revelation was bought by the company in March 2015 for a value of $2.6 million. It was built by Sodemborg Skibsvaret AS, Denmark, in 1984 and converted in 2002. It is 80 meters long, 13.25 meters wide, and can accommodate 138 people.

According to AIS data from Friday, February 23, the vessel is currently located in the Port of Mumbai.

It is worth mentioning that Kreuz Subsea won a contract in January which will see the company mobilize five vessels to deliver subsea completion works for Indian multi-national conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T).

The contract, which is worth an undisclosed eight-figure sum, will see Kreuz Subsea supporting L&T’s installation of all riser clamps, risers, crossing works, tie-ins, subsea trenching, and hydro-testing of pipelines which are part of ONGC’s Pipeline Replacement Project and Daman Field development projects off the west coast of India.
