London-based marine and engineering consultancy LOC Group informed that it has found a man for its newly created position of Group Chief Operating Officer.
Jerome Rutler, who will be the company’s new COO, joined LOC from Bureau Veritas where he has worked for 13 years, most recently as vice president, corporate development for the Marine, Oil and Gas division.
LOC’s new COO has worked for more than 20 years in the oil & gas, petrochemicals and marine industries for a variety of companies, EPCI (engineering, procurement, construction and installation), consultancy and technical advisory.
Rutler also has experience as a company director, with particular expertise in management, operations and strategy, LOC said. He will be responsible for LOC’s global operations including marine assurance and risk, energy and shipping sectors.
Welcoming the new role, Andrew Squire said: “Jerome’s appointment significantly boosts our core management team. LOC was established nearly 40 years ago, and today the company is an independent, international, multi-disciplinary organisation, leading the industry in each of our fields of activity. Jerome’s arrival strengthens our team still further and will enable us to develop our exciting ambitions for the future.”
Jerome Rutler commented: “I have travelled extensively around LOC’s offices and have a good understanding of the business, the challenges and opportunities. This is a fascinating sector with interesting potential. I look forward to working with LOC’s expert teams and contributing to the company’s future success.”
