Malaysia: Kencana Orders Pedestal Cranes from Handal

Handal Offshore Services Sdn Bhd, a Malysian offshore crane manufacturing and servicing company that specialises in offshore pedestal mounted cranes, has received the award from Kencana HL Sdn Bhd for the supply of two pedestal cranes known as B-7301 and B-7302.

The contract is expected to contribute positively to increased earnings and net assets per share of the HRB Group for the financial year ending 31 December 2012, says Handal’s statement.

The cranes are valued at RM4,545,000.00 (USD 1.5 million) and RM2,074,500.00 (USD 668k) respectively. Crane B-7301 is scheduled to be delivered on 14 September 2012 and Crane B-7302 on 3 October 2012 or earlier.

While Handal’s official statement doesn’t reveal more details, Bernama reports that the cranes are destined for Murphy’s marginal Serendah oil and gas field development in Block SK309, offshore Bintulu, Sarawak. Kencana on Wednesday announced that it had been awarded a contract for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of offshore facilities from Murphy Sarawak Oil.
