The most watched video was the one released in April, showing experiencing a rough landing aboard a helideck of the Sevan Brasil drilling rig.


Mooring the largest floating facility ever built

Oil company Shell in September launched a video of its giant Prelude floating LNG (FLNG) unit being moored at the Browse Basin offshore Australia.

The video, published in January 2017,  showing heavy waves hitting the Oseberg platform in the Norwegian part of the North Sea just after Christmas 2016.

 

Shell’s Brent Delta arrives at final destination

The video shows the arrival of Shell’s Brent Delta platform to Quay 6 at Seaton Port on May 2, 2017. The platform topside was removed on April 28 by Allseas-owned giant vessel Pioneering Spirit which was its heaviest lift so far, and according to Allseas, heaviest such lift ever.

 


Topside for Statoil’s Mariner A platform lifted into place

Statoil in August launched a video of the installation of the Mariner A platform topside.The final piece of the giant puzzle was lifted into place on the 38 000 tonne topside. The topside consists of eight modules, two of them more than 10 000 tonnes.

 

VIDEO: Norway’s first and world’s largest spar platform mated

The world’s largest spar-platform built for the Statoil-operated Aasta Hansteen development off Norway was mated at Stord in December.


VIDEO: BP brings online Thunder Horse expansion project

The project expansion adds a new subsea production system roughly two miles to the south of the existing Thunder Horse which is a collection point for wells connected to the Thunder Horse platform by two 11,000-foot flowlines installed on the seabed in late 2016.
