Neptune in diving work for Oil Search off Papua New Guinea

Australian subsea services provider Neptune Marine Services has been awarded a diving contract by oil and gas company Oil Search under its existing Master Services Agreement for inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) work in Papua New Guinea.

Neptune said on Thursday that the contract, for which the engineering phase has already begun, includes the provision of diving services for facilities maintenance at the Kumul Marine Terminal located in the Gulf of Papua.

The company added that the services would be provided using the DP2 Dive Support Vessel Crest Odyssey 2 which is expected on site early next year.

Oil Search awarded Neptune a five-year offshore diving and subsea inspection services contract in Papua New Guinea in April 2015. The contract entails call out diving support services and the provision of Neptune’s other key capabilities.

The contract states that Neptune equipment will be permanently held in PNG, at the Oil Search base in Port Moresby. Work will be focused primarily on the Kumul Marine Terminal, the oil export pipeline and CALM buoy with the option to include other Oil Search assets as required.

Neptune CEO, Robin King, said: “We are proud to be in the second year of this MSA working closely with Oil Search. We have now opened a branch in Papua New Guinea to help support ongoing works and to clearly demonstrate our commitment to PNG.”
