New board member proposed at Maersk Drilling

Offshore driller Maersk Drilling has proposed a new member for the board of directors of The Drilling Company of 1972 A/S (Maersk Drilling).

Maersk Drilling said on Monday that it expected Alastair Maxwell to be elected as a member of the board of directors of Maersk Drilling which will be named The Drilling Company of 1972 following the demerger of A.P. Møller – Maersk in April.

It is worth reminding that the shares in Maersk Drilling and its subsidiaries will be contributed to a new company with the legal name The Drilling Company of 1972.

A.P. Møller – Maersk initially announced the demerger in August 2018 and published its demerger plan on Monday, March 4, 2019, which will be proposed for approval by the shareholders at its Annual General Meeting on April 2.

As for the new board member, Alastair Maxwell is currently the CFO of GasLogLtd and GasLog Partners LP as well as a board member of several companies within the GasLog Group.

Before that, Maxwell had a 29-year career in the investment banking industry, most recently as a co-head of Energy Investment Banking in Goldman Sachs Group.

Claus V. Hemmingsen, chairman of Maersk Drilling, said: “I am pleased that Alastair Maxwell has accepted to be proposed as a new member of the board of directors of the company following the demerger.

“Alastair has a strong international profile with more than 30 years of capital markets experience, and a profound understanding of the oil and gas value chain, which will strengthen the Board composition further.”
