New Contracts for Scana Propulsion

Scana Industrier ASA has through its subsidiary Scana Propulsion in November signed new contracts where one contract is for delivery of a propulsion systems to Kleven Verft, and two contracts are for delivery of tunnel thrusters to Nordic Yards and Guangzhou Salvage Bureau. The contracts have a total value of around 22 million NOK.

The contract with Kleven Verft is delivery of gear and propellers to a new construction vessel for Østensjø Rederi. The vessel is designed by Salt Ship Design and will be delivered in March 2016. Scana Propulsion will deliver gear and propellers within first quarter 2015.

The contracts for delivery of tunnel thrusters are signed with customers in Germany and China. Nordic Yards in Germany have ordered tunnel thrusters for two Multipurpose Icebreaking Rescue & Salvage vessels to the Russian Ministry of Transport. The contract with Guangzhou Salvage Bureau in China is delivery of tunnel thrusters to a 50.000 dwt Semi-submersible Heavy Lift Vessel that will be built at Guangzhou Huangpu Shipbuilding. Both the tunnel thruster contracts will be delivered within second quarter 2014.

“Scana Propulsion have signed several contracts for both tunnel thrusters and propulsion systems during 2013 and the company sees it as very positive that the market position are strengthened further,” says Hallvard Pettersen managing director in Scana Volda.
