Bassoe Offshore, an offshore rig brokerage, advisory, and project development company, has appointed Simen Skaare Eriksen as a senior partner.
Bassoe said that Eriksen joined the company’s team in Oslo as a senior partner.
The company, focused on offshore rig assets including drilling, accommodation, service rigs, and floating production units, also has offices in London, Houston, Dubai, and Rio de Janeiro.
“We see growth and opportunity coming to the offshore drilling market. In anticipation of that, we’re strengthening our project development and brokerage organization with Simen’s 20 years of experience in the industry,” the company said.
After more than ten years in various roles with A.P. Moller-Maersk and Maersk Drilling, Eriksen worked as the CEO of Singapore-based drilling contractor Frigstad Offshore from 2008–2017. He currently serves as a board member for Atlantica Tender Drilling.
According to Bassoe, it is targeting new projects and increased activity in the offshore industry, and Eriksen will play a role in developing opportunities and solutions for new and existing clients.
Regarding his appointment, Eriksen said: “Bassoe is a name with a great reputation across the offshore oil and gas community. The company stands out with a strong industrial foundation as demonstrated through its track record of in-house projects and solid, global client base of first-class industry players. While the offshore industry has endured a few very challenging years, the sentiment is changing – positive vibrations can be felt. I’m excited about joining the Bassoe Group and look forward to bringing new ideas to our clients.”
