NHV to provide heli support for Maersk Oil

NHV, a Belgium-based helicopter service provider, has started helicopter operations in Denmark for oil company Maersk Oil.

NHV said on Tuesday that the contract entails the provision of passenger and freight transport services to Maersk Oil installations in the North Sea from Esbjerg.

The company will provide a crew, technicians and two Airbus H175 and H155 helicopters for the Maersk operations. NHV added that it has eight H175 model helicopters which have, since their entry into service in December 2014, completed more than 3000 flights and accumulated almost 5000 flying hours in West Africa and the North Sea regions.

The H175 is designed to meet mission needs in the oil and gas industry. It can be used for search and rescue in support of such offshore operations, emergency medical services, public services, VIP, and executive transport.

NHV Group stated that it would ultimately increase its fleet to 16 of these new-generation helicopters.
