North Energy ASA : Jette Well Not Commercial (Norway)

Drilling of exploration well 6607/12-3 on the Jette prospect in licence PL385 in the Norwegian Sea is about to be completed.

According to a statement issued by North Energy ASA, the well has encountered gas, but preliminary calculations indicate that the discovery is not commercial.

“More evaluation and analysis will however be performed to further clarify the resource potential in the discovery,” the company said.

Located 16 kilometres north-west of the Norne FPSO, this prospect is roughly 209 kilometres from Brønnøysund in northern Norway. The 6607/12-3 well is being drilled by the West Alpha rig.

Statoil is the operator with a 45 per cent holding, while partners Noreco, DONG Energy and North Energy hold 20, 20 and 15 per cent respectively.
