Norway: Statoil Gets Green Light to Use Island Wellserver Vessel

Statoil has been granted consent to use the mobile facility Island Wellserver for well intervention activities on Yttergryta and Snøhvit.

Statoil has previously been granted consent to use Island Wellserver for well intervention activities on fields in the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea, and has now been granted consent to use the facility on Yttergryta and Snøhvit as well. Intervention work on these fields will start in September 2010 and continue for the duration of 2011.

Island Wellserver is a mobile facility which is specially built for light well interventions (“Subsea Riserless Well Intervention Vessel”), and is operated by Island Offshore Management.

The facility received an Acknowledgement of Compliance on 3 April 2009.
