Oil company Wintershall Norge has awarded a contract for platform drilling services on the Brage platform, located on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, to Odfjell Drilling, a drilling services, well management, and engineering company.
Odfjell Drilling said on Tuesday that the firm contract is for four years and has an estimated contract value in the range of $50-70 million subject to operational activity during the contract duration. The contract additionally contains 2+2 year options.
Odfjell Drilling is currently under contract to perform platform drilling services on the same unit. However, no wells have been drilled in 2016.
The new contract comes into effect at January 1, 2017.
“We appreciate the trust Wintershall and its partners show us to continue the platform drilling services on the Brage platform. This contract underlines Odfjell Drilling’s abilities to perform safe and quality operations for our customers and I can assure that we will demonstrate the company’s firm commitment to a successful future drilling on Brage,” says Odfjell Drilling CEO Simen Lieungh.
