Oil & Gas UK’s statement on death of Total CEO

Oil & Gas UK has issued a statement on the death of Christophe de Margerie, Chief Executive of Total. 

In the statement, Oil & Gas UK said: “The death of Christophe de Margerie comes as a shock and a heavy blow for the whole of our industry.  

“Oil & Gas UK sends its deepest condolences to the family of Mr de Margerie, and those of the crew members who also lost their lives. Our thoughts are with our friends and colleagues at Total. “

Oil & Gas UK is the leading representative organisation for the UK offshore oil and gas industry.

Its growing membership, which comprises oil and gas producers and contractor companies, now numbers almost 500 organisations.

Oil & Gas UK yesterday informed that its chief executive Malcolm Webb intends to retire next year.
