Australian energy firm Origin Energy has appointed four new members of the company’s leadership team.
Origin said on Friday that Jon Briskin, Greg Jarvis, Anthony Lucas, and Sharon Ridgway had assumed new roles in the company.
Namely, Briskin is now the Executive General Manager (EGM) of Origin Retail, Jarvis – the EGM of Energy Supply and Operations, Lucas – EGM of Future Energy and Business Development, and Ridgway – EGM of the People and Culture department.
Origin’s recently appointed Chief Executive Officer, Frank Calabria, said: “These changes remove a leadership layer from the Energy Markets business, simplify the structure and bring operational leadership roles up onto the leadership team.
“I am delighted that I have been able to draw on the deep pool of talent in Origin to fill many of these important leadership roles.”
The leadership team has three more members with David Baldwin as the CEO of Integrated Gas, Andrew Clarke as the Group’s General Counsel and Company Secretary, and Carl McCamish who is the EGM of Technology, Risk, HSE, and Transformation.
The company said that a search to fill the role of CFO and the newly created position of Executive General Manager of Corporate Affairs is currently under way.
Until the position is filled, acting CFO Gary Mallett will continue reporting to the company’s CEO while Ben Bolot will continue working as the Acting General Manager of Strategy and Development. Origin expects to fill the two vacant roles in early 2017.
All four changes to the leadership team were chosen from Origin staff. Briskin joined Origin in 2010. Before this role, he held the position of General Manager for Retail. He also worked in management consultancy roles across the financial services, energy, technology and government sectors.
Jarvis joined Origin in 2002. Before this new appointment, he was responsible for Wholesale, Trading, Generation, and Business Energy. He began his career in the finance industry and holds a Bachelor of Business and a Master of Applied Finance.
Lucas joined Origin in 2002. His previous role was General Manager of Strategy and Risk. He began his career in the banking industry and holds a Diploma in Business Studies and a Master of Applied Finance.
Ridgway joined Origin in 2009. She held a similar position before this appointment as General Manager for People and Culture in Origin’s Energy Markets business. She began her career with UK electronics retailer, Dixons Group, where she was head of HR and European recruitment.
