Petrobras’ chairman tenders resignation

Brazilian oil company Petrobras has informed that its chairman of the board of directors has resigned.

Brazil’s state-run oil firm on Monday said that Murilo Pinto de Oliveira Ferreira presented its resignation. According to Petrobras, he was in leave of absence since September 14, 2015.

Luiz Nelson Guedes de Carvalho, who was performing the duties of the Chairman since September 14th, will stay in this position until the next ordinary Board meeting, when this subject will be deliberated, the oil company said.

Petrobras did not provide any info on the reasons behind Ferreira’s resignation.

Apart from being a Chairman of Petrobras, Ferreira is the CEO of Vale, Brazilian mining company.
