Petrobras Domestic Output Drops Due to Campos Basin Shutdowns (Brazil)

Brazil’s state controlled oil company Petrobras reports that average combined domestic and foreign oil and natural gas output in April reached 2,551,951 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed). The figure for domestic fields alone was 2,305,378 boed, while foreign fields produced 246,573 boed.

Total average domestic output was made up of 1,961,023 barrels/day of oil and 54,748,000 m3/day of natural gas. Average oil output from foreign fields was 149,865 barrels per day, with natural gas at 16,431,000 m3/day.

Some Campos Basin platforms and subsea systems were shut down for maintenance and production was interrupted in the Frade field, operated by Chevron, causing a drop in domestic output of 32,200 barrels/day (1.6%) compared to the previous month.

Petrobras’ foreign output also dropped 2.7% on the March figure, mainly due to operational problems on the horizontal well in Espinal, Colombia.
