Offshore support services provider Sea Trucks is providing accommodation services for more than 200 personnel for Shell offshore Malaysia through its accommodation pipelay construction vessel, the Jascon 34.

The vessel was contracted back in June by Sabah Shell Petroleum Company to provide offshore accommodation services for the Malikai deepwater development project, located 100 kilometers off Sabah, Malaysia, at a water depth of around 500 meters.

The initial contract between the companies was for a period of 2 months, with options to extend. The vessel features accommodation facilities for a maximum of 335 persons and is connected at all times to the Malikai Tension Leg Platform via its active heave compensated telescopic Marine Aluminium gangway.

Also, Sea Trucks was recently able to find work for the Jascon 31 vessel from Permaducto S.A. de C.V. (Protexa) for the provision of accommodation and lifting services in support of repair works at Pemex Line 221 at the Abkatun-A Platform in the Abkatun field in the Gulf of Mexico for 50 days.

The company said on Monday that after the completion, it will provide similar services at Pemex Lines 63a and 65 in the Ku-Maloob-Zaap Field for 42 days plus options.

Jascon 31 is a DP3 accommodation construction vessel equipped with a 400 mT heave compensated main crane. The vessel features accommodation for 408 persons, a heave compensated gangway and 1300 m2 of unobstructed deck space.
