Piper Bravo platform workers tested for drugs

All personnel on board the Talisman Sinopec Energy UK-operated Piper Bravo platform in the UK North Sea have been tested for drugs.

The operator contacted Police Scotland on Saturday, after an ‘unknown substance’ was discovered on the Piper Bravo oil platform.

In a statement sent to Offshore Energy Today, the company’s spokesperson said: ” In line with our company procedure, all personnel on board have undergone substance-testing by medics. As this matter is being dealt with by Police Scotland, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time. Talisman Sinopec Energy UK operates a zero tolerance approach to illegal substances.”

According to the Press and Journal, a number of wraps containing what is suspected to be cocaine has been discovered on the platform.
